The coalition, which includes 14 community hospitals with a combined revenue of $3.1 billion, intends to develop group purchasing and shared service arrangements. MVA also aims to allow the hospitals to share best practices for lowering the total cost of care while improving quality metrics.
Originally founded in 2016 by Emerson Hospital, the MVA now covers about 2 million patients across all the independent healthcare systems.
