Via Christi, Mercy break ground on primary care clinic

Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health and St. Louis-based Mercy Health Systems broke ground on their joint venture Monday to build a primary care clinic in Pittsburg, Kan., according to a report from The Morning Sun.

The new Via Christi Mercy Clinic will span 13,600 square feet and be outfitted with 30 exam rooms, X-ray services, a nurse work area and dedicated lab, according to the report. The systems expect four physicians and a total of six to 10 providers to staff the clinic. The joint venture, with the support of the two systems, is expected to draw in primary care physicians.

The project is estimated to cost $2.6 million and open in mid-2017, according to the report.
