Vermont regulators approved Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital's $22.7 million expansion project, according to The Commons News.
The project includes a new four-story, 20,180-square-foot facility, which will hold medical offices, larger operating rooms and an expanded cardiac rehabilitation unit. The hospital will also renovate more than 11,000-square-feet of vacant space and connecting hallways.
The Green Mountain Care Board — which is tasked with lowering Vermont's healthcare costs while maintaining quality care — approved Brattleboro Memorial's certificate of need Oct. 2.
