Union Health Service to open outpatient facility in Evanston

Chicago-based Union Health Service opened a new facility Tuesday in Evanston, Ill., that offers primary and specialty care.

The facility is staffed by three primary care physicians and will offer specialty services in general surgery, cardiology, endocrinology and gastroenterology. This is UHS' sixth facility in the Chicago area.

"This is an exciting milestone in the history of Union Health Service," Leon Wolin, president of UHS, said in a statement. "New developments are constantly occurring, allowing us to combine the skills of our staff with strategically located center facilities to provide high quality outpatient medical care. With our electronic medical records system and with the additional space, we now have greater ability to coordinate the care offered by our entire medical team."

UHS is organized by the Service International Employees Union. It provides managed care to union members.
