The new ED, the first phase of expansion at the hospital, is more than double the size of the previous ED and features 12 individual treatment rooms, according to the report.
It also includes two senior-focused specialty rooms, a pediatric-friendly room and a room specially equipped for trauma care.
The new ED is named in honor of the parents of Esther Marie Bruns Katz, a woman treated in the McCullough-Hyde ED roughly two decades ago.
