St. Mary’s, Tri-State Orthopaedics to build new hospital: 4 things to know

St. Mary’s Health and Tri-State Orthopaedics, both in Evansville, Ind., are partnering to build a new orthopedic specialty hospital to provide surgical and non-surgical care.

Here are four things to know about the new facility.

1. The $95 million, 135,000-square-foot, four-story St. Mary’s Orthopedic Hospital will serve as an extension of the St. Mary’s Epworth Crossing campus in Newburgh, Ind.

2. The St. Mary’s Orthopedic Hospital will include 48 inpatient rooms, 10 operating suites — with room for expansion — and two procedure rooms.

3. Services provided at the facility will include:

  • Elective orthopedic and spine surgeries (inpatient and outpatient)
  • Pre-procedure education
  • Pre-procedure clinic
  • Imaging services
  • Laboratory
  • Physical therapy
  • Respiratory therapy
  • Durable medical equipment
  • Pastoral care & chapel
  • Hospitalists
  • Dining services
  • Community meeting space

4. The St. Mary’s Orthopedic Hospital is expected to open in fall 2018.
