The cancer center will offer services that extend across the entire continuum of care, from prevention to screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care, survivorship and support, according to hospital CEO David Verinder.
The destination cancer center is expected to be complete in three to four years. The Sarasota County Public Hospital Board approved the first phase of facility planning last month, allocating $4 million to begin the design process.
The hospital has not yet released a final estimated figured for the construction, equipment and furnishings of the hospital, according to the report.
