While RCRH has an orthopedic department in its hospital, officials wanted to consolidate RCRH’s orthopedic and sports medicine services into one facility.

Construction on the 10-acre complex will begin in May. Officials anticipate the facility will be completed by summer 2018.

Scott Becker, partner at McGuireWoods and publisher of Becker’s Healthcare, said “it’s interesting to see in a time of change and uncertainty some hospitals expanding while other hospitals are laying off staff.”
