OSF to open new Pekin, Ill.-based facility

Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare plans to open an 18,000-square-foot facility in Pekin, Ill., early next year, according to a report from the Journal Star.

The property is currently under demolition and building permits have been secured, but much of the planning is still underway, according to the report. The health system hopes to staff the center with about 20 to 30 people across primary care, various medical specialties and laboratory diagnostics. Primary care services will offer same-day appointments, according to the report.

Even though local Pekin Hospital is also building a new physician's center, Pekin Hospital CEO Bob Haley told the Journal Star he does not feel the new facility will affect its operations and that the system supports local healthcare, according to the report.
