Ohio city officials approve tax incentives for St. Luke's Hospital building project

Maumee, Ohio-based St. Luke's Hospital received a financial boost for two buildings slated for construction in nearby Perrysburg, Ohio, reports The Blade.

Perrysburg City Council members approved a 10-year, 75 percent property tax abatement for the two 15,000-square-foot buildings earlier this week, according to the report.

St. Luke's administrative director for physician services, John Stout, said in the report the goal is for one of the buildings to house the hospital's family medicine residency program, which has not been operational since 2014. The report states it is unclear exactly how the other building will be used.

Overall, the two buildings are expected to include a combined 50 physicians and staff members, reports The Blade.

According to the report, the hospital's tax-incentive application projects an October starting date for project construction.
