The health center will provide culturally sensitive health services to LGBTQ communities. Initially, patients will have access to the center on Mondays from 4:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. The health system plans to expand clinic hours to meet patient volume. The clinic will provide numerous services, including primary care, OB/GYN, behavioral health, dental, ophthalmology, hormone therapy as well as testing for sexually transmitted infections and HIV.
The Pride Health Center at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull is the second LGBTQ-focused care facility within New York City-based at NYC Health + Hospitals. NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan in New York City was the first.
The Human Rights Campaign Foundation designated 22 NYC Health + Hospitals locations, including NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, as “Leaders in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality.”
