Novant Health to open 15 urgent care centers in North Carolina

The first urgent care centers will open in early 2019 and several other centers will pop up in the following 12 to 18 months.

The centers will serve as an after-hours alternative to costlier emergency room visits. They will be equipped with onsite laboratory and X-ray services to treat non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries such as colds, flu, minor cuts, burns, fractures, sprains and strains.

“For Novant Health, our choice to expand our services with GoHealth Urgent Care is based on our commitment to continue providing quality care that is accessible, affordable and convenient for patients,” said Carl Armato, president and CEO of Novant Health. “This new consumer-focused healthcare concept will allow us to reach more patients and better meet their needs right where they live, work and play.”
