New hospital planned for Lee County, Ga: 3 things to know

Construction could begin in 2018 for a new hospital in Georgia’s Lee County, according to a WFXL report.

Here are three things to know.

1. Features for the two-story hospital include 60 beds as well as a full emergency room, according to the report.

2. Lee County commissioners believe the hospital could ultimately create 150 jobs, reports WFXL.

3. Efforts have already been made toward making the hospital a reality, including the filing of a letter of intent April 18, according to the report. The Georgia Department of Public Health would also need to sign off on the project.
