Navicent Health to construct children’s hospital

Macon, Ga.-based Navicent Health, formally known as the Medical Center of Central Georgia, announced the construction of a replacement children’s hospital, 13 WMAZ reported.

The construction comes as Navicent Health is outgrowing its downtown Macon location, built in 1962 for adult care before switching to child care in 1987.

No location or design has been chosen for the new facility, and the hospital plans to fund the project partly through philanthropic support.
