MedStar Health’s new heart hospital to open later this month

MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., part of Columbia, Md.-based MedStar Health, has completed its MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

MedStar Health did not provide the Washington Business Journal with an exact opening date, but said it expects to begin housing cardiac patients in the newly completed critical care units within the next several weeks.

The heart hospital’s headquarters, first inpatient units and main lobby were completed and opened on Washington Hospital Center’s north addition in 2015, according to the report.

The cost of the renovation is $60 million.
