The completion of the new clinic comes a year after the rural hospital finished a $10 million hospital expansion, which featured a new emergency room with seven additional bays and new inpatient rooms.

John Heard, McGehee Hospital’s president and CEO, hopes nurses and physicians will be impressed with the new facilitites, calling recruitment efforts “pretty dire up to this point,” according to the Arkansas Business Journal.

“We’re starting a growth phase,” Mr. Heard added. “Our next step is to get a couple more practitioners.”
