Las Vegas hospital breaks ground on $130M expansion

Las Vegas-based Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center broke ground Dec. 29 on a $130 million expansion, according to the Kaplan Herald.

The project will include a five story addition to an existing facility. The 253,000-square-feet of new space will house 72 surgery and intensive care patient beds, a pediatric cardiovascular unit and an imaging suite.

"Right now, we're pretty much full every day at the hospital," said Sunrise Hospital's COO Alan Keesee, according to the Kaplan Herald. He added that the expansion will help not only "to meet current demand, but also prepare for the future."
