Inova Loudoun Hospital starts ED expansion

Inova Loudoun Hospital began renovation efforts to update the emergency department at its Lansdowne campus in Leesburg, Va., according to Healthcare Design.

The updated facility will include a trauma room and cardiac emergency rooms, an expanded treatment area, eight private treatment rooms, fast track rooms to treat minor injuries, a treatment room in the children's ED and an additional behavioral health room, among other additions.

The facility will be named the Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center in recognition of a $2 million donation that helped fund the project, according to the report.

Project completion is slated for late 2017.
