HealthAlliance can build 175-bed hospital, New York says

Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley received approval from the New York State Department of Health to build a 175-bed hospital in Kingston.

The $92.9 million project will be a significant overhaul of its Mary's Avenue Campus hospital. The new HealthAlliance Hospital will have a two-story adjoining building added to the current facility. An additional 48,000 square feet of renovations will take place in the existing hospital.

The hospital will include an emergency department, a 10-bed intensive care unit, a six-bed medical stepdown unit, a birthing unit, an imaging department, and centers for ambulatory surgery, infusion therapy and endoscopy.  Most of the patient rooms will be private.

The construction start date has yet to be set.

HealthAlliance is a part of Westchester Medical Center Health Network in Valhalla, N.Y.
