The planned hospital will house an emergency department, operating suites, patient rooms and diagnostic units.

Geisinger, which purchased the land for $1.9 million, is working with design firms to create a blueprint of the facility.

The 22-acre site is a short distance away from UPMC Susquehanna’s Muncy (Pa.) Valley Hospital. A UPMC spokesperson told Penn Live they were unaware of Geisinger’s plan so they could not comment.
