Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to build 52-bed hospital in King of Prussia

Expanding its presence in the region, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia will build a 52-bed, 250,000-square-foot inpatient hospital in King of Prussia, Pa.

The new hospital, which will be next to Children’s  King of Prussia Specialty Care and Surgery Center, will offer a wide range of pediatric services such as orthopedics, plastic surgery and radiology.

The facility will house a 24/7, 20-bay emergency department and an operating room suite with up to four operating rooms. There will be 16 pediatric intensive care unit beds and 36 medical surgical beds.

"Today's announcement marks a recognition of the ever-growing demand for world-class pediatric care closer to home," said Madeline Bell, President and CEO of the children’s hospital. "CHOP's new inpatient hospital will serve families living everywhere from the Philadelphia suburbs to south and central New Jersey, as well as Delaware and beyond, providing convenient access to the highest quality hospital services available for children."
