4 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.  

1. John Muir Health, UCSF Health to open outpatient center, connecting patients to primary, specialty care
Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Health, in partnership with San Francisco-based UCSF Health, will open a joint medical center for primary and specialty care in June.

2. Bozeman Health plans $75M expansion, more than doubling its ICU: 5 things to know
Bozeman (Mont.) Health Deaconess Hospital plans to invest $75.5 million in an expansion project that will double the size of its current intensive care unit and add southwest Montana's first neonatal ICU.

3. UChicago Medicine clears final regulatory hurdle to open level 1 trauma center
The University of Chicago Medicine will open a level 1 adult trauma center in its emergency department May 1, after receiving final approval from the Illinois health department.

4. Covenant Health unveils $115M expansion plan for Fort Sanders Regional
Pending approval, Knoxville, Tenn.-based Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center — operated by Knoxville-based Covenant Health — will undergo a $115 million expansion and modernization project.
