Mike Wascovich, PharmD

Michael P. Wascovich serves as vice president of medication management and chief pharmacy officer for Ascension, a St. Louis-based nonprofit Catholic health system with 90 hospitals and community, home delivery and specialty pharmacies across 17 states.
In this role, Dr. Wascovich leads all aspects of Ascension Pharmacy Services, including acute and post-acute care strategy, medication quality and safety programs, and clinical drug utilization and formulary standardization. His purview also spans infusion services, PBM and managed care contracting, 340B compliance and optimization, and regulatory compliance and accreditation, along with the deployment of pharmacy technology and automation. He additionally oversees population health management, medication therapy management and pharmacotherapy services, and medication affordability and access programs, while maintaining Ascension Rx’s internal and external collaborative partnerships.
Before joining Ascension, Dr. Wascovich held pharmacy leadership roles at Premier Inc., including vice president of field pharmacy services, and spent more than a decade in ambulatory and specialty pharmacy leadership at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Wascovich serves as board chair of the End Drug Shortages Alliance and sits on the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ Advisory Panel to the Pharmacy Executive Leadership Alliance. He also advises the board of Dispensary of Hope, a Nashville, Tenn.-based nonprofit medication access organization.
