BayCare Health taps 2 new vice presidents

Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System has appointed two new vice presidents, Patrick Brown, MD, as vice president and chief medical information officer and Philip Karp as vice president and CTO, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.

Dr. Brown previously served as vice president and CMIO at Centra Health in Lynchburg, Va. At BayCare he will now oversee all communication between medical staff and information services and optimization of clinical technology strategy.

Mr. Karp joins BayCare from New York City-based NYU Langone Health, where he served as vice president of IT architecture and infrastructure. He led a team of 800 professionals delivering operations, support, architecture and engineering for technology platforms. As the new vice president and CTO, he will oversee the strategic direction of infrastructure technologies, clinical engineering and operations to ensure audit readiness and security.
