West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital to deploy ED-specific EHR

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, La., is implementing the Wellsoft EDIS, an emergency department information system.

The Wellsoft solution is an ED-specific EHR that will integrate with the hospital's Allscripts Paragon information system. The hospital hopes to eliminate paper documentation in the ED with the new EHR. The hospital is expecting to go-live on the Wellsoft system in early to mid-2019.

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital is a 107-bed hospital and sees around 33,000 ED patients annually.
