Beginning on March 1, all Vermont residents with participating healthcare providers will be automatically enrolled in the HIE, according to the Vermont Information Technology Leaders, a nonprofit organization that oversees the HIE.
The data exchange service aggregates patient health records from participating hospitals and healthcare organizations across the state. Providers that use the VHIE can share and access patient health records with other participating organizations in Vermont, regardless of health record software.
