UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown includes a 49-bed, acute care hospital, four primary care medical clinics and a medical park. It established a command center staffed by Epic and UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown’s IT employees to enable a smooth transition to the new system. Additionally, numerous Epic “super-users” are stationed on hospital floors to help clinical staff with the system.
The Epic EMR gives UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown patients and caregivers access to a single, unified, shareable patient record. Patients will be able to use the My UnityPoint patient portal to view their medical records and test results as well as schedule appointments, among other features.
