UMass Memorial Health Care earned Stage 6 on the eight-stage HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model, which measures the degree to which a hospital or health system uses its EMR functions. Thirty-three percent of hospitals have reached Stage 6, which represents the second-highest designation.
UMass Memorial Health Care officials largely attributed the health system’s achievement to recent IT integration efforts. UMass Memorial Health Care rolled out a $700 million Epic EMR system Oct. 1.
“I am so proud of what our entire organization has accomplished over the past two years as we complete the transformation of our information system, merging hundreds of disparate software platforms into one seamless patient record,” said Eric Dickson, MD, president and CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care.
