U of Vermont hospital transitions to Epic EHR

University of Vermont Health Network-Champlain Physician Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y., is the latest facility to move to UVM Health Network's Epic EHR system, according to the Press Republican.

UVM Health Network comprises seven hospitals, all of which already use Epic or are scheduled to deploy the software. Here are the hospitals in UVM Health Network:

· University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington).
· Central Vermont Medical Center (Berlin).
· Porter Medical Center (Middlebury, Vt.).
· Home Health & Hospice (Colchester, Vt.).
· Alice Hyde Medical Center (Malone, N.Y.).
· Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital.
· Elizabethtown (N.Y.) Community Hospital.

In October, Porter Medical Center moved to the digital records system, and UVM Medical Center will upgrade to the most recent version of the Epic EHR Nov. 1, according to the report.

"At the same time, CVPH, CVMC and Porter outpatient practices are going live on the out-patient version [of] Epic, which will allow us to link with the University of Vermont because, by definition, in the system each patient has one chart," said Alison Guile, MD, an internist and regional physician leader at UVM Health Network, according to the report.
