Seattle Children’s moves Epic EHR to the cloud: 3 details

Seattle Children’s recently transitioned its Epic EHR system to the Virtustream healthcare cloud platform, according to an April 28 news release.

Three details:

1. Seattle Children’s IT staff worked with Virtustream to transition the EHR system over to the cloud platform completely virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. About 3,500 Seattle Children’s clinicians and staff are using the Epic system on the cloud platform today; the health system expects this number to increase to more than 5,000 staff.

3. Seattle Children’s provides services throughout 46 locations in Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
