Mr. Sicilia shared two areas of focus for the company in 2023.
First, Mr. Sicilia said the EHR company is looking to eliminate closed systems, disconnected processes and fragmented data.
It plans to do this by combining its clinical and technical expertise to work across the industry to make it more open, intuitive, connected, and more patient centric.
“Change like this can’t happen overnight, but since bringing Cerner on board, Oracle has dedicated significant resources and top engineering talent to create better outcomes for patients and providers,” said Mr. Sicilia. “We are making global health systems more usable and equitable, and eliminating the administrative overload that plagues the industry.”
The company has also introduced healthcare-industry-specific cloud services for supply chain management, financial planning and human resources.
The aim of these new resources is to help hospitals and health systems tackle some of their most pressing challenges, according to Mr. Sicilia.
“We’re working to combine Cerner’s clinical expertise with Oracle’s comprehensive enterprise applications running on secure, high-performance cloud infrastructure, so that customers will start to experience the end-to-end solutions the healthcare industry desperately needs,” said Mr. Sicilia. “This includes integrated connections between clinical and billing workflows, advanced automation that reduces repetitive administrative tasks and other complexities that are keeping this important industry from its potential.”
The EHR vendor also said it is working closely with partners, customers and its competitors to try to “heal” the healthcare industry from things such as administrative overload.
