Three things to know:
1. Novant Health chose Virtustream’s cloud platform because it met all the health system’s requirements, including business, security, technical and cost, Novant Health Chief Technology Officer James Kluttz said in a news release.
2. The nonprofit health system, which comprises more than 15 medical centers, implemented Epic in 2011.
3. By migrating to a cloud platform, Novant Health aims to establish a more predictable cost model while improving business speed as well as avoiding the need to completely re-design its system every time a new change becomes necessary.
