The contract falls under the Encompass program, which is a Health and Social Care initiative to establish an EHR system across Northern Ireland’s hospitals, health and social care systems. The project is expected to generate 200 new jobs across the country.

Health and Social Care of Northern Ireland spent four years planning for the project before choosing Epic as a partner. The Verona, Wis.-based EHR vendor will work directly with HSCNI front-line staff, operational management, care teams and patients to develop and roll out the single digital care record.
