Meditech opens Greenfield app development site, store

Meditech launched an app development environment, dubbed Greenfield, Sept. 18.

Greenfield provides third-party developers a space to build apps that work in Expanse, Meditech's newest web-based EHR. Greenfield comprises access to application programming interfaces that connect to Meditech's software infrastructure, an online forum to discuss app development and technical support from Meditech developers.

Greenfield will also feature a list of approved apps that integrate with Meditech's Expanse EHR.

"In today's healthcare paradigm, EHRs are not only judged on their inherent functionality, but also for how well they connect with other systems," Howard Messing, president and CEO of Meditech, said in a news release.
