Kern Medical chose the Cerner Millennium EHR to have one integrated platform across the organization. The EHR features an online patient portal, allowing patients to message their providers, settle billing issues and view their medical history.
Cerner’s HealtheIntent platform aggregates real-time data to create a comprehensive view of an individual patient’s healthcare experiences as well as the organization’s patient population. The platform aims to enhance clinical decision making. Kern Medical will also use the platform to support regulatory reporting requirements under the Public Hospital Redesign and Incentives in Medi-Cal program.
Kern Medical includes 222 beds and is the only trauma center in Kern County, Calif. It is affiliated with University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine.
