The campaign is being worked on by clinicians at the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity and NYU Langone’s Medical Center. Clinicians hope the effort to decrease the higher rates of cancer faced by members of the LGBT community, according to a June 29 NYU Langone blog post.
The project will allow patients to enter sexual orientation and gender identity information in the demographics tab in Epic.
