Franciscan Health completes Epic migration to Microsoft cloud

Mishawaka, Ind.-based Franciscan Health migrated its Epic environments to Microsoft Azure, a cloud computing platform developed by Microsoft.

The migration was completed on May 30, Charles Christian, vice president of technology for Franciscan Health wrote on LinkedIn. 

“Our migration was completed with a two and a half hour downtime,” he wrote. 

The health system announced in April 2023 that it would be making the move to Microsoft’s cloud in a bid to enhance security, optimize data access and improve patient care.
