The hospitals deployed Epic through Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health’s community connect program, which allows large health systems to extend access of their EHR system to smaller organizations in the community.
To assist with the go-lives, Deaconess Health partnered with healthcare staffing and consulting services firm Optimum Healthcare IT. Optimum provided project management services and Epic support specialists as Ferrell Hospital and Gibson General Hospital transitioned to the new EHR.
In addition to its partnership with Ferrell Hospital and Gibson General Hospital, Deaconess Health comprises seven hospitals, a multispecialty physician group, a freestanding cancer center and various urgent care facilities.
