CHI Memorial Hospital deploys Epic EHR

CHI Memorial Hospital implemented an Epic EHR system to streamline clinical applications, billing and population health services across the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based health system, according to a Nov. 11 news release.

By transitioning to Epic, CHI Memorial can exchange EHR data with any other organization also using the vendor.

"We're focused on helping local caregivers meet the unique needs of our community," said Kumar Murukurthy, MD, chief informatics medical officer at CHI Memorial, according to the news release. "Epic allows us to adopt some of the standards in place at the best healthcare organizations in the country, but still be flexible and adjust for the needs of each of our locations."

CHI Memorial, a nonprofit hospital, comprises more than 700-affiliated physicians throughout Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.
