Berkshire Health Systems to implement $35M Meditech EHR

Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Health Systems is investing $35 million over the next three years to transition to a Meditech EHR system, according to a Nov. 19 Berkshire Eagle report.

By switching to Meditech, BHS' physician offices, hospital and cancer center providers will be able to share patient health records on a single platform. The new EHR will replace BHS' current system, FollowMyHealth, an electronic patient portal the health system uses for its outpatient medical records.

The health system. which announced its partnership with Meditech in December 2018, will implement the EHR vendor's web-based EHR system. By integrating patient data throughout BHS' inpatient and outpatient settings, the project aims to help reduce the amount of time that clinicians spend collecting data from new patients as well as decrease the chance for data entry errors, according to the report.
