Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health entered into an agreement with eHealth Technologies in February to integrate diagnostic images into its myBaystateHealth patient portal.
Patients are now able to view their own radiology and cardiology images on the patient portal. They are also able to forward the diagnostic images to additional physicians for consultations, second opinions and follow-up care.
"Expanding these services to image-enable the myBaystateHealth patient portal was a relatively simple endeavor, yet represents one of the first initiatives in the U.S. that provides patients with ready access to their images," eHealth Technologies officials wrote in a Feb. 27 statement.
