athenahealth, HIPAA One collaborate to offer security analysis

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth will offer Linden, Utah-based HIPAA One security risk analysis software as an optional line-item on their monthly invoice in an effort to provide greater value and simple billing.

Under the agreement, athenahealth will offer mandated HIPAA compliance requirements essential to the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act and the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System reporting as part of their monthly invoicing program to reduce administrative burden.

"We are removing barriers to achieving HIPAA compliance thanks to athenahealth. Instead of sifting through confusing HIPAA compliance requirements at varying third-party prices, athenahealth users may comply with confidence, reduce the risk of a breach and obtain the HIPAA One guarantee they will pass an audit," said Steven Marco, president of HIPAA One.
