The facility is becoming too small, said Kristi Froese, vice president of clinical operations. The ED treated nearly 27,000 patients last year.

St. Luke’s Health Memorial Livingston serves a 40-mile range and often sees trauma from outside of Livingston, said Jason Minchew, supervisor of imaging services.

The 23,500-square foot emergency department will house 19 exam rooms and is expected to open before the end of the month.
