Louisiana hospital doubles ER in $4M project

Acadia General Hospital in Crowley, La., is launching a construction project to more than double the size of its emergency room, according to a Daily Advertiser report.

The $4 million project will expand the ER from 3,000 square feet to 7,378 and will house 10 private ER rooms, two holding rooms and two triage areas. The new ER will also offer a covered area for patient drop off/pick up and quicker registration options.

The construction will break ground next week and is anticipated to take 12 to 14 months to complete.
