Optum in the headlines: 6 updates

From launching a new weight management and wellness support program to the proposed acquisition of Corvallis Clinic, here are six updates on Optum Becker’s has reported since Dec. 12:

1. UnitedHealth Group executives touted plans to expand the number of patients in value-based relationships in Optum Health in 2024. 

2. Optum posted total revenues of $226.6 billion for the fiscal year 2023, a 24% increase compared to the previous year, according to UnitedHealth Group’s fourth-quarter earnings report. 

3. St. Louis-based SSM Health and UnitedHealth Group’s Optum ended their administrative partnership around inpatient care management, digital transformation and revenue cycle management.

4. UnitedHealth Group’s Optum, the largest employer of physicians in the U.S., is seeking to acquire physician-owned Corvallis (Ore.) Clinic. 

5. Three health systems struck deals to outsource revenue cycle, health IT and other services with Optum in 2023. 

6. Optum Rx launched a new weight management and wellness support program for health plan sponsors, including employers.
