OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, is expanding its push into healthcare with several high-paying job openings focused on AI applications in the sector.
The San Francisco-based firm is currently hiring a research engineer and scientist for health AI, a role that will help develop safe and effective AI models for healthcare. The position offers a salary range of $310,000 to $460,000, according to the company’s postings.
OpenAI is also seeking a software engineer for healthcare to build scalable and reliable systems to support AI applications. That position lists a salary range of $245,000 to $385,000.
The new roles underscore OpenAI’s continued interest in developing healthcare-specific tools at a time when hospitals, health systems and tech companies are exploring ways to integrate generative AI into operations, from documentation to diagnostics.
