The tech giant is working with Humana to develop a digital version of the payer’s cards to save to Google Wallet. “This will provide Humana’s members a convenient way to access their insurance information swiftly and securely right from the palm of their hand,” Jenny Cheng, vice president and general manager of Google Wallet wrote in a June 1 blog post.
Unlike loyalty cards or event tickets, insurance cards will have a “private pass” label because they contain sensitive information, Ms. Cheng wrote. They will require users to enter their fingerprints or PINs to access them.
