5 former hospital C-suite leaders who work for One Medical

Even though it's now owned by a Big Tech company trying to disrupt healthcare, One Medical grew to the point of being acquired by Amazon for billions of dollars under the leadership of several former hospital and health system executives.

These leaders of One Medical, which Amazon bought Feb. 22 for $3.9 billion, came from hospital C-suites:

1. CEO Amir Dan Rubin was previously president and CEO of Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care and COO of Los Angeles-based UCLA Health and Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Medical Center.

2. Chief Quality Officer Raj Behal, MD, has served as chief quality officer of Stanford Health Care and associate chief medical officer of Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center.

3. Chief Strategy Officer Jenni Vargas previously worked in the same position at Stanford Health Care.

4. Chief Network Officer John Singerling is the former president of Columbia, S.C.-based Palmetto Health, which merged with Greenville (S.C.) Health to become Greenville-based Prisma Health.

5. Chief Operations Officer Trent Green was previously senior vice president and COO of Portland, Ore.-based Legacy Health.
