With the new Passes API update, healthcare organizations, government agencies and other organizations authorized to give COVID-19 vaccines and/or tests will be able to offer individuals the option of having their health records directly on their Android devices.
The new capability is rolling out initially in the U.S., but Google plans to make it available in other countries.
Google said it does not share the data in the user’s COVID-19 card with the company’s other services or third parties nor does it use it for targeted ads.
