UW Health hospital rebrands to reflect affiliation

Rockford, Ill.-based SwedishAmerican Hospital rebranded as UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital this month, local news outlet WREX reported June 16.

The name change represents the 2015 merger between SwedishAmerican and Madison, Wis.-based UW Health.

The news comes as UW Health launches a new marketing campaign focused on the theme of empathy.

“We’re excited to roll out these new names and signage that reflect our connection to a world-class academic medical center, a connection that enhances our ability to provide top-quality care right here in Rockford and northern Illinois,” Travis Andersen, CEO of UW Health in northern Illinois told WREX.
